Campaign mode is a blast! Never thought anyone would put so much effort into an adaptation like this. Well done!

This is a great game. I played the app before I played the board game, and was able to get a decent understanding of the game through the tutorial. The campaign is a lot of fun, but I would like to have more campaigns--perhaps they could make an expansion. I havent tried multiplayer yet, only the single player. The reason I gave this game four stars I instead of five is that it uses a lot of battery life. Overall, though, I recommend this game.

Better than the tabletop version.

I was skeptical about this game just like most other app games because I feel they arent built to keep your interest very long, rather just something to entertain for a brief time but for me this game is wonderful! Now saying that I have never played to actual board game before but I have this a try because I love the ability to build and customize things in games and thats at the heart of this game: building you ship the way you want it to be; it can be frustrating when the pieces you need are taken but hey it makes it so much rewarding when you actually find them and build a great ship! The gameplay itself looks to be be true to the board game (I compared the gameplay to videos of ppl playing the actual game) and can last just minutes or hours depending on your game setup; sometimes this game can be challenging and other times its a walk in the park because of the variables each game that always change. Overall I love this game and recommend it to anyone who has played the board game or for anyone who loves science-fiction and for anyone who enjoys customization in their games!!!

I cant put this game down! I had never played the board version but it didnt matter at all. Buy this game!!!

Hours and hours of challenging fun

Love it. Better for the iPad because its just easier to see the tiles, but both versions are an excellent adaptation of the board game.

Its a fun board game, but the campaign mode is a really fun way to do single player. A bigger screen would help, but it isnt required.

Played the board game at a community game night, immediately looked for the app!

I love games that can take a few basic components, very little extra space on my phone for story and levels, and make magic. This game is like nothing Ive ever played, and if you enjoy procedural levels, this should do it for you. Lots of wry writing, inventive upgrades, and grinding strategies, aka "YOU fight the pirates". P.S. I put a booze crate where an engine should go and didnt have to use any. Bug? Awesome.

I fell in love with the physical game. The app is an enhancement, not a disappointment. Ive heard bad things about the multiplayer, but well see- its cross-platform!

I had never heard of the board game before (but then again I havent played one in 15 years) but I was looking for a space/strategy game like Starbase Orion or similar. While browsing, this game popped up. It had 5 reviews and 5 stars, so I was a bit skeptical at $4.99. After looking at it, I said "EHH why not?". BEST MOVE EVER. While this is nothing like a 4x game, I am so glad I took that chance because this is the most fun Ive had on an iOS game (and I own about 70). It has a killer campaign and the multiplayer is awesome. You could play this until the end of time and it still be just as exciting as the first time. It is addicting as all get out too! I somehow sat on the toilet with my phone for 40 mins today before I realized "Hey, you should move.."

Galaxy Trucker is responsible for eating up almost all of my free time since I bought it a few weeks ago, and thats totally okay with me. Seriously, this game is so addicting and fun I find myself thinking about it when I fall asleep at night. My favorite part aside from the unique gameplay would probably have to be all the funny characters that you meet from planet to planet. Id recommend this game to pretty much anyone who likes fun and happiness and breathes air.

As it stands, this is a flat-out great game. It would be perfect if the player were given the option of using the turn-based ship construction tool for all runs. Its vastly more intuitive than the real-time interface, which is a frustrating mess on small screens.
